Participants are required to reside in one of the
following jurisdictions: Cities of Alexandria, Falls Church or Fairfax
and the Counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun or Prince
William and be 50 years of age or older as of December 31, 2013.
Events are broken down in 5 year, 10 year, 20 year, 30 year or no
age groups. Age groups for all doubles and team competitions will
be determined by the age of the youngest participant. All substitutes
must be within the same age group or older. All substitutes must
be registered, paid all fees and signed waiver to be eligible to

Registrations must be postmarked by August 23, 2013. Athletes may
enter as many events as they like, as long as the events do not
overlap in time, except for field events. The NVSO Committee reserves
the right to cancel any event after the posted deadline date due
to insufficient registration or weather. Early Registration is appreciated.
Rain Policy: In case of rain on any
day of competition, outdoor events may be rescheduled. To confirm

Full refunds will be issued if an
event is cancelled by the NVSO Committee and the cancelled event
is the only event in which the participant is registered. Refund
requests for medical reason must be received in writing prior to
the registration deadline.

reserve the right to resolve any rules disputes, and to disqualify
any participant who arrives late to any event or fails to adhere
to the eventsí rules.
Appeals are required to be filed with a committee
member in writing within 24 hours of the scheduled event. Decisions
will be made within a timely manner. At no time will an appeal be
permitted in situations relying on human judgment. Only misinterpretations
of rules will justify an appeal.
The Northern Virginia Senior Olympic
Committee encourages participation in the Northern Virginia Senior
Olympics. If you, a member of your family or a friend would like
to participate in the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics and are
in need of fee assistance in order to participate, please contact
your sponsoring jurisdiction (see front page) for more detailed
Medals will be awarded to the first,
second and third place winners. In case of a tie, two medals will
be given except in some events where ties will be played off. Medals
will be awarded on the day of the event. If you are unable to receive
your medal on the day of the event, you may pick up your medals
at the Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls Street, beginning
October 15. Medals must be picked up by December 15, 2013. Medals
